Their destination is the Scottish Highlands, where Marcus recalls childhood experiences of stalking with his father, hoping to bond with Vaughn. The local residents are generally welcoming, though some take issue with Marcus’s aggressive demeanor. A potential fight arises in a pub but is diffused by the locals.
That evening, Vaughn and Marcus spend time with two women, but Vaughn turns down one’s advances due to his relationship. When morning arrives, the duo sets out for their hunting excursion.

Marcus is aware that Vaughn is wielding a gun illegally and fears that he will face imprisonment for the boy’s death. Given the circumstances and his drug-induced state, Marcus concludes that the only way out is to eliminate the man. He insists they must conceal the bodies.
