The series presents a near-surrealist noir centered on Miu (Angela Bundalovic), a young woman with mysterious powers who has been exploited throughout her life. The finale wrapped up numerous plot threads introduced in the preceding episodes, though some developments were less coherent than others.
For those puzzled by the cryptic ending, here’s a detailed explanation of the finale’s events. Several mysteries in Copenhagen Cowboy remain unresolved, possibly reflecting Refn’s artistic choices.

What Did Miu Do?
The last episode begins with Nicklas (Andreas Lykke Jørgensen) instructing his sister to locate an important woman—Miu. Meanwhile, Miu promises Hulda (Li Ii Zhang) that she will reunite her with her daughter as part of an agreement with Chiang (Jason Hendil-Forssell).
When Miu meets Chiang, he agrees to fulfill his end of the bargain but reveals that the child is his biological daughter. After the girl’s safe return, Miu stays at the club, where Chiang asks her to heal his migraines. Throughout the series, Miu’s abilities have been portrayed as extraordinary.
Chiang later proposes marriage to Miu, which she rejects outright. This rejection escalates into a physical confrontation, with Miu overpowering and finally killing Chiang.
Elsewhere, Nicklas’ sister refers to Miu as “many” and prepares for a confrontation. Miu returns to the woods, encountering a group of women dressed in blue jumpsuits.
They proceed together in a surreal sequence, eventually reaching a field where colorful flares illuminate the night sky. The presence of similarly dressed women suggests a connection to something otherworldly.
This moment transitions to an unsettling sequence featuring screams from Nicklas’ sister and ambiguous imagery, which invites viewers to interpret the possibility of Miu and the other women being extraterrestrial beings.
The series concludes with Miroslav (Zlatko Burić) appearing in a video call. He instructs others to investigate the giants, revealing that these entities are the only ones capable of defeating Miu.
