30 Coins Season 1 Ending Explained: Revealing the Chaos

Shadows rise as the final coin falls into place.

As 30 Coins Season 1 drew to a close, Manuel, Elena, and Paco emerged from the burnt church, armed and ready. As they called out for Father Angel, he appeared from the mist, and soon after, a massive demonic entity surfaced from beneath the ground.

This led to a series of intense events involving Angel, Merche, Antonio, Laguna, and the townspeople. Angel, determined to gain absolute dominance over the town, manipulated the villagers, who remained oblivious to the dark forces at work.

A Battle for Survival in a Town Under Siege

The trio put up a fierce struggle, desperately trying to create an opportunity to defeat Angel and his followers. Meanwhile, the crown containing 29 coins became the center of conflict, with priests striving to obtain all of them.

Fabio managed to stab Manuel in the stomach, seizing the final coin to complete the set of 30. At the same time, Elena, who had been stabbed by Merche’s shadow using a pin, had mysteriously vanished, only for Paco to later discover her on a sofa.

In the middle of all this, Paco engaged in a fight with a monstrous creature and succeeded in killing it. Antonio cleverly distracted Fabio using a dove, while Paco hurriedly took Elena to a safe location in the village.

With chaos spreading rapidly, Manuel mustered his remaining strength, pulled out the blade from his stomach, and charged at Fabio in an attempt to eliminate him. However, Fabio shoved him off the balcony instead.

This caused the crown to release the coins, leading to a frantic scramble among the priests trying to collect them. This commotion gave Elena and Paco a chance to escape, though Manuel was left behind. Merche, on the other hand, managed to grab one of the coins and left with Cardinal Lagrange.

As for Father Angel, he was last seen sitting before a mirror, where he altered his appearance before stepping through a portal. On the other side, he found himself in New York.

Will There Be 30 Coins Season 2?

Considering how the first season ended, it seems likely that another season will be made to reveal Father Angel’s plans in New York. Miguel Ángel Silvestre, who plays Paco, spoke about the future of the show during an interview with Collider.

He confirmed that he had heard the director mention plans for three seasons during a press conference. Excited about the development, he also hinted that the next season would introduce some unique characters. Wrapping up his thoughts, he expressed his eagerness to continue working with Alex and HBO.
