Kohrra Ending Explained: The Identity of Paul’s Killer and Liam’s Fate

The murder mystery series on Netflix titled Kohrra is made known in a small town in Punjab.

Recently released, this show crafted by Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia, and Sudip Sharma stands out among its genre.

Featuring Suvinder Vicky and Barun Sobti as detectives investigating the murder of an NRI found dead just days before his wedding, the story immerses viewers in a somber Punjab town plagued by drug issues affecting its youth, while the older generation adopts a ‘mitti pao’ (ignore it) approach.

Detectives Balbir Singh (Suvinder Vicky) and Amarpal Garundi (Barun Sobti) diligently pursue leads to uncover the identity of the person who fatally slashed Paul’s (Vishal Handa) throat.

Earlier episodes revealed that drug dealer Kulli was responsible for smashing Paul’s head, leading to his death; however, the investigation still seeks to identify who left him gravely injured in the fields.

The detectives also discovered that Shinda’s truck was involved in a hit-and-run that resulted in Liam’s (Ivantiy Novak) death.

Revelations and Relationships

In the series finale, Balbir uncovers through forensic reports that Paul and Liam were in a romantic relationship. He visits the Dhillon farmhouse to inform Paul’s parents and Liam’s mother of their connection.

Upon hearing the news of his son’s homosexuality, Paul’s father, Steve (Manish Chaudhari), reacts with anger, but Clara (Rachel Shelley) intervenes, explaining that Paul concealed his identity due to Steve’s volatile demeanor. Clara was aware of their relationship but had promised Paul not to disclose it.

Simultaneously, Balbir’s daughter, Nimrat (Harleen Sethi), is released from the hospital. In a surprising twist, he invites Karan (Lokesh Batta) to the hospital and grants them his blessing, suggesting he is beginning to reevaluate his parenting choices.

As the story nears its conclusion, Balbir hands Liam’s remains to his mother, Clara, who finally reveals a secret she has kept. This revelation allows Balbir to piece together the entire case. Clara informs him that she received a voicemail from Liam the night of the murder. The scene moves to Balbir retracing the steps of the murder based on the voicemail.

The Final Confrontation

The night of the incident involved a confrontation between Liam and Paul at a bar, followed by a visit to Veera (Aanand Priya), who shares details about her ex.

After dropping her off, Paul receives a call from Liam, prompting them to meet in the fields. Liam expresses his frustration that Paul is not ready to come out, leading to a passionate moment that escalates into a struggle.

During this altercation, Liam accidentally slashes Paul’s throat. Regretting his actions, Liam calls his mother to confess but is struck by a truck while crossing the field and dies.

As the credits roll, Garundi’s character embarks on a new chapter with his marriage, while Balbir and Indira (Ekavali Khanna) work to repair their strained relationship following Balbir’s admission about the circumstances surrounding her husband’s death.
