What Happens in Gotham Knights?
Batman’s death at the hands of Ra’s al Ghul leaves Gotham vulnerable, prompting the Bat-Family to step up and uncover the truth about the elusive Court of Owls. This secretive organization has orchestrated sinister events for centuries while managing to avoid Batman’s watchful eyes.
As the investigation progresses, Talia al Ghul returns to Gotham, initially presenting herself as an ally. However, her true motives remain questionable. Meanwhile, classic villains like Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze also have their plans, but their schemes play out through separate storylines.
While digging deeper into Gotham’s underground crime network, the team eventually identifies the person leading the Court of Owls. The revelation is far from expected—Jacob Kane, a former USSOCOM soldier and the CEO of Kane Industries, has been pulling the strings behind the Court’s activities all along.
Kane had once been an associate of Bruce Wayne through their collaborations at Wayne Industries. However, as the Bat-Family tries to put an end to his schemes, it turns out to be part of a larger trap. Talia exploits their efforts to weaken the Court of Owls, using the chaos to further her agenda.
She has been experimenting with the Lazarus Pit’s powerful waters, aiming to create an army of enhanced warriors. But to lead such a force, she needs a commander who inspires fear.
How Gotham Knights Ends
While investigating Talia’s secret research, the Bat-Family follows a trail that leads them deep beneath Gotham’s dam. There, they discover that the ruins of the Batcave have been repurposed as a base for Talia and her followers.
The excavations stretch further underground, eventually revealing a hidden chamber filled with Lazarus Pits, designed for mass resurrection. Despite Batman’s death, his presence still lingers. Talia had retrieved Bruce’s body and submerged it in the Lazarus Pit.
Though he has been brought back to life, the process has left him mentally unstable. The player must now confront their former mentor in a battle unlike any other.
Bruce Wayne’s Final Stand
Emerging from the Lazarus Pit, Bruce’s revival comes at a devastating cost. For a brief moment, his consciousness returns, but the moment of clarity is short-lived. Before he can act, Talia strikes, stabbing him in the back and leaving him mortally wounded.

With Talia appearing to be defeated, the Court seizes the opportunity to claim the Lazarus Pits for themselves. Refusing to let that happen, Talia makes a final declaration—she will wipe Gotham clean, no matter the price.
Before she can act, the distant sound of the Bat-Wing signals Bruce’s last act of heroism. Using the last of his strength, he launches an attack that wipes out a large portion of Talia’s forces, ensuring Gotham gets another chance to fight back.
What Happens Next?
With Talia vanishing into the shadows, much of her army has been decimated, but Gotham remains far from safe. The Bat-Family delivers a message to the city, assuring its people that they will continue to uphold Batman’s legacy.
However, with the Court of Owls still active and the League of Shadows fractured but not destroyed, the battle is far from over. That’s how Gotham Knights concludes.
