The end of Code 8: Part II ties up Connor and Pavani’s story with the justice they had been seeking through various obstacles and dangers. As the follow-up to Netflix’s Code 8, this second film includes familiar faces from the earlier release but moves with a fresh storyline that largely stands apart.
The story begins with Connor Reed returning from prison and attempting to rebuild a simple, trouble-free life after his criminal past in the original film. That calm does not last long, as he soon crosses paths with a young girl named Pavani, who is fleeing from crooked officers abusing their authority.

In trying to shield her from harm, Connor becomes entangled in a dangerous plot that endangers people like himself. To rescue Pavani from these rogue officers, he reconnects with some former acquaintances, though he remains unsure of their loyalty.
How Pavani and Connor Managed to Take Down Sergeant Kingston
The pair rely on their unique powers to stand up against a dangerous enemy
Pavani lets Connor know that the K9 units used by the police keep recordings, which are later used for training. She believes the same unit that killed her brother and attacked her must have saved that footage.
Acting on this, Connor and Kelton visit Kingston’s house. While Kelton keeps Kingston busy with conversation, Pavani quietly sneaks into the garage and locates the deactivated K9 she shut down during her brother’s murder. With her abilities, she keeps it from rebooting and she and Connor sneak the unit out without Kingston knowing.
Even though they succeed in stealing the unit and retrieving the evidence, things take a dangerous turn when Kingston sends his men after them. Connor comes up with another strategy, aiming to reach a media van parked outside the building.
But before they get far, a K9-controlled officer confronts them. Pavani quickly uses her powers to stop the K9 just before it kills Connor. Sadly, the officer shoots her in the process.
Despite the injuries, Connor carries Pavani out of the building. Officer Davis steps in to stop other officers from attacking them. Connor then uses his power over electricity to activate the hard drive within the K9. Pavani sends the footage to a live feed, broadcasting Kingston’s crimes for the entire public to see—including law enforcement agents and his wife.
Aaron Abrams reprises his role as Officer Davis, who also appeared in the original Code 8.
What Happened After Kingston Was Exposed and Detained
Justice is finally served as Pavani and Connor get some peace
Although Kingston tries to regain control by attempting to shoot both Pavani and Connor, Garrett intervenes and restrains him using his powers. The police then arrest Kingston, and after his actions come to light, efforts begin to improve the lives of people with powers. A fresh law is passed to ensure those living in Monument Hill receive financial help to recover from the harm caused by law officers like Kingston.
As the final scenes of Code 8: Part II show, Connor remains true to his word to Pavani’s mother, staying close to care for her daughter and operating the community center by her side.
The government also decides to halt the use of robotic K9 units for public enforcement after it becomes clear Kingston used them for deadly purposes. Pavani survives and slowly recovers from her injuries, while Connor revives Mrs. Mina’s old community center. The closing moments reaffirm that he is committed to both Pavani and the community’s wellbeing.
Why Kingston Was After Pavani
She carried the one thing that could destroy his reputation
At the beginning of Code 8: Part II, it’s revealed that Kingston discovered Garrett’s illegal operation of extracting and selling Psyke. Rather than taking legal action, he decided to extort Garrett by collecting a large share of his profits.
Pavani’s brother, Tarak, who worked for Garrett, was struggling to raise money for her education. Hoping to help her, he tries to steal money that Garrett had left behind for Kingston.
Before he can escape with the money, Kingston and another officer catch him. Kingston then orders the K9 to attack, and the robot fatally injects Tarak with Psyke. Pavani, sensing trouble, arrives in time to see the incident.
Though Kingston tries to hide the crime by turning the K9 on her as well, she disables the machine and escapes. As the only witness, she becomes a serious threat to Kingston’s ambitions.
Kingston’s True Motives Behind Targeting Powered Individuals
His hunger for political advancement led to extreme actions
Kingston’s ultimate goal was power, and to get there, he manipulated the K9 system to brutally target those with special abilities. He kept up a lie about his own powers to both his colleagues and his wife, all while using the declining crime statistics to boost his standing in the LCPD.
As his fame within the force rose, he began preparing to run for the Union presidency. But his ambitions came crashing down after Pavani and Connor exposed his schemes.
Garrett’s Suggestion to Erase Pavani’s Memory Explained
His solution was driven by a short-term mindset
Garrett initially proposes erasing Pavani’s memory of her brother’s murder, reasoning that without the memory, she poses no threat to Kingston. But things spiral quickly when a superhuman with memory-related powers tries to remove that part of her mind. Pavani fights back when she realizes all memories of her brother are vanishing, claiming they are too closely linked for a clean erasure.
Seeing how far Garrett is willing to go, Connor steps in and helps Pavani escape. Unlike Garrett, he understands that protecting her memories is more important than removing the danger. He cannot accept wiping out her bond with her brother just to cover up Kingston’s corruption.
Why Garrett’s Proposal to Kingston Backfired

His betrayal brings serious consequences
When Connor and Pavani get hold of the K9 footage, Garrett sees a chance to use it as blackmail instead of evidence. He offers Kingston a deal, hoping they can use the footage for leverage. Kingston, however, refuses and shoots Garrett, believing his forces can still defeat the group. His overconfidence quickly fades as Connor and Pavani stand strong against him.
Hints That Code 8: Part III Might Be On The Way
The door is left open for a possible continuation
As the second film closes, a news anchor announces that Psyke is again entering the market from an unidentified origin following Garrett’s arrest. Garrett, already behind bars, watches this with a sly smile, revealing he may have planned ahead. His Psyke business might continue through hidden channels.
This development sets the stage for a fresh conflict between Garrett and Connor—especially since Connor now oversees a group of children at the center. If any of them become victims of Garrett’s new drug operations, a major clash could follow.
There’s also a chance Kingston could manage to get out of prison and target Connor and Pavani once more. Or perhaps, a new and more powerful adversary might surface, forcing Connor, Garrett, and Pavani to unite for the sake of Lincoln City.
Both Code 8 films are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
