Titled “Killer Match,” the second season of Fake Profile continues with themes of romance and betrayal like the first. Still, it now introduces a serial killer threatening the peace of Riviera Esmeralda. Residents begin to drop dead one after the other, suggesting that someone has an unsettled score.
Assigned to uncover the truth behind the murders, Detective Indira Martinez had her hands full due to the messy personal affairs of the people living in Riviera Esmeralda. Despite all her previous troubles, Camila Roman believed she had finally found love in David.

However, Miguel never truly left her thoughts. The question remained—who did she decide to be with at the end?
The Killings Were Driven by Vengeance and Guilt
Angela had no tolerance for men who cheated, especially after experiencing betrayal from Miguel. While she was locked up, she began to craft a revenge plot. She had two clear goals—to eliminate unfaithful men and to get rid of anyone who disrespected her father.
Angela seemed to carry deep guilt over her father’s death, even though she played a role in it. She saw her father as a misunderstood man, and she took it upon herself to go after anyone who tried to ruin his name. Tina, once close to her father, was among Angela’s targets because she revealed disturbing truths about him.
Pedro, Tina’s mother’s former lover, frequently stayed at their house. Over time, he began to show interest in young Tina, and what followed was a series of abuse and manipulation. Tina, being too young to fully grasp what was happening, was taken advantage of emotionally and physically.
She eventually developed feelings for Pedro, unaware of the true nature of the relationship. He used her trust to push forward his twisted plans. Angela, refusing to accept this, insisted that Pedro could never have harmed Tina and saw Tina as a liar deserving of punishment.
Long before Tina confessed, Angela had made up her mind to end her life. Her anger intensified when she discovered Tina had partnered with Santiago, the CEO of Ferrer Barragan, to push Angela out of the company. In a rage, Angela attacked her with boiling water before stabbing her repeatedly.
Tina tried to flee, but Angela ensured she didn’t survive. She also most likely killed Cristobal, thinking he might come for a stake in her father’s business. But the bigger mystery was why she also killed her brother and Erika, both of whom had no history with Pedro’s wrongdoings.
Angela Didn’t Act Alone—She Had Help
The ending of Fake Profile season two revealed that Angela wasn’t acting alone—Joaquin Duval was working with her. During her prison time, Angela was introduced to Joaquin, a therapist with a disturbing past. He had previously faced accusations of sexually abusing a teenage patient and recording her without permission.
When Angela opened up to him, instead of correcting her thinking, Joaquin encouraged her desire for revenge and fed her hatred. This encouragement gave birth to a shared experiment between the two of them.
Joaquin, who was fascinated by men in unhappy relationships, found a partner in Angela who could help him with this twisted pursuit. Their victims were carefully selected—mostly unfaithful men from their circle. For their first kill, Joaquin arranged for Angela to get medical leave from prison so they could murder Ignacio.
Trouble arose when Adrian, Angela’s brother, discovered what they had been doing. As a result, Joaquin killed him. Erika’s death came because she always kept an eye on Camila, whom Joaquin had begun to desire. Joaquin was also Camila’s therapist, and during one of her visits to his office, he locked the door.
Fortunately, Indira had started suspecting him, especially after Miguel raised concerns and she dug up his criminal history. While Indira managed to get him arrested, he didn’t stay behind bars for long. After being released, Joaquin drugged Camila and tried to flee with her.
Thankfully, Miguel and the police arrived just in time, and before Joaquin could shoot Camila or Miguel, Indira stepped in and shot him.
Angela May Have Escaped the Law
From how season two ended, it appeared Angela managed to get away from police custody—and she didn’t do it alone. Although she was having an affair with her neighbour, Emanuel, Angela ended up murdering him in the final episode.
He had realised that Angela still had feelings for Miguel, and she wasn’t ready to confront her emotions. By this point, Angela seemed to be killing just for the thrill. She had also grown close to Vannessa, Santiago’s wife, who was longing for an emotional connection.
Santiago constantly treated Vannessa poorly, and Angela not only sympathised with her but also saw an opportunity to get back at Santiago, who had tried to remove her from the company for the sake of its investors.
When Santiago caught Angela and Vanessa in a romantic moment at his house, he attempted to attack Angela. In response, Vannessa took a gun and shot him. Angela did not see this coming, even though she had her issues with Santiago. Watching Vanessa go that far for her left a strong impression on Angela.
She then proposed they dissolve Santiago’s body using chemicals. They both escaped by boat, with Vannessa possibly having sent her children to stay with her parents before leaving with Angela, most likely to another country.
A New Chapter Might Be On Its Way
There’s a good chance Fake Profile will return for a third season. Angela and Vannessa have managed to stay ahead of the authorities for now, but how long will that last? While Vannessa deeply cared for Angela, the feeling wasn’t mutual.

Angela appreciated Vanessa’s support and understood her pain, but her heart still longed for Miguel. Angela knew she couldn’t have Miguel, and she might try to ruin his relationship with Camila. Also, Vannessa didn’t yet know that Angela was the serial killer. When she finds out, she might want to cut ties.
As things stand, Camila and Miguel have finally gotten back together. If a third season happens, we might see them fighting to protect their relationship from any future threats. One more character stood out this season—Laura, Angela’s neighbour. She was an older woman who fell for a younger man named Matteo.
At first, she doubted the relationship, thinking it was too good to be true. But over time, she began to believe in his feelings. However, Matteo vanished, and it was Inti who later revealed that his real name was Alonso, and he worked as a sex worker.
Laura found out that his office was based in Barranquilla. When she visited, she used a fake name and claimed to be a photographer looking for male models.
In season three, it would be interesting to learn if Matteo genuinely fell for Laura or if someone had planted him in her life—maybe even her son, trying to show her that trusting strangers could be dangerous. Hopefully, the next season will bring answers to those questions.
