Kong Encounters a New Companion

After he departs from Skull Island, Kong begins his journey to find peace in Hollow Earth, hoping to escape isolation. His time alone is interrupted when he spots a figure through a mist, prompting him to prepare for combat.

But what follows is an unexpected meeting—a young ape named Suko steps out of the shadows. Moved by the innocence in Suko’s eyes, Kong reaches out with goodwill, only to be met with aggression.

Suko is not alone; he is joined by other apes who challenge Kong to a fight. Kong, with his dominant strength, defeats them, and from that moment, Suko starts following him. What begins as a confrontation develops into an important relationship, as Suko later plays a key part in the final conflict.

Mothra Makes a Return

Having previously sacrificed herself for Godzilla in The King of Monsters, Mothra had been absent from the story. But her bond with Godzilla remains strong, and it becomes clear that only Mothra could bring him to fight alongside Kong once more.

While it seems at first that Jia is the only remaining member of the Iwi tribe, the story reveals that another group of Iwi exists deeper in Hollow Earth. Their queen approaches Jia, seeking her help in performing a ritual to revive Mothra.

Once returned, Mothra becomes instrumental in uniting the Titans, helping both Godzilla and the humans bring their fight to Skar King and his forces.

Godzilla Undergoes a Major Change

Long-time fans know Godzilla for his iconic blue dorsal spikes, so seeing him with bright pink ones is a major departure. This change is more than cosmetic—it marks a leap in strength and ability.

Though Godzilla’s role in the film is somewhat limited in screen time, his presence is still mighty. He challenges several powerful enemies, using these encounters to absorb their energy and grow stronger.

His battle with the sea serpent titan Tiamet stands out as a turning point. Victorious, Godzilla emerges from the fight transformed, his spikes now glowing with a new colour that signals enhanced power.

Final Battle with Skar King

When it comes time to stop the latest threat, Kong and Godzilla stand united against Skar King. Their objective is clear—defend the surface world from destruction. Godzilla goes after Skar King, while Kong takes on Shimo, who is being controlled by the evil ape through a mysterious crystal.

The moment of change arrives when Suko notices an opportunity during the fight and shatters the crystal, which breaks Skar King’s control over Shimo. Regaining her senses, Shimo turns against her former master and uses her freezing breath to trap him in ice. Even as Skar King is frozen, his eyes show signs of life, prompting Kong to finish the job and destroy him completely.

Peace Restored and Joy Returns

With their enemy gone, Godzilla heads back to the surface world, while Kong remains below with Suko and Shimo to liberate those who had been forced into slavery.

The emotional release of the freed apes is powerful, as years of pain and oppression finally come to an end. On the human side, Dr. Ilene Andrews speaks with Jia about staying behind with the other Iwi tribe.

Despite having a deep connection to them, Jia decides to return with Dr. Andrews. The film closes on a hopeful note, with bonds of loyalty and family stronger than ever.
