Two Graves explores the lengths one would go to protect loved ones. Netflix’s Spanish limited series culminates in a finale that is both shocking and heartbreaking, centering on Isabel’s relentless search for truth and Rafael Salazar’s obsessive thirst for revenge. What begins as a grandmother’s grief-driven investigation spirals into a life-or-death struggle where every decision impacts the safety of those she loves most.
Isabel Investigates Disappearance, Uncovering Dangerous Secrets Behind Verónica and Marta’s Tragic Night
Released on August 29, Two Graves follows Isabel (Kiti Mánver), who is determined to uncover what happened to her missing granddaughter Verónica (Nadia Vilaplana). Verónica disappeared two years after a tragic night out with her friend Marta (Zoe Arnao). Isabel’s search leads her to the dangerous gangster Rafael Salazar (Álvaro Morte), Marta’s father, and eventually uncovers disturbing connections between Verónica and TV presenter Carlos Jaén (Salva Reina).

The series flashes back to the night Verónica and Marta attended a local festival, which quickly turns into a nightmare. The girls are drawn into secret parties involving drugs, alcohol, and exploitation by wealthy men, including Carlos Jaén. What initially seems like a fun adventure escalates into a tragic chain of events, leaving both girls in peril and disappearing under mysterious circumstances.
Tragic Consequences Unfold as Secrets, Assault, and Sacrifice Threaten Loved Ones’ Safety
As revealed later, Verónica encouraged Marta to join the risky parties. Marta was drugged and assaulted by Jaén, prompting her to spiral into despair. In a tragic accident, Marta dies during a struggle with Verónica while attempting self-harm. Instead of reporting the incident, Verónica, with her father, Antonio, disposes of Marta’s body in the Mediterranean Sea to protect themselves from Rafael’s wrath.
Upon learning the truth about Marta’s death and Verónica’s hiding in Morocco, Isabel realizes her family is in danger from Rafael’s vengeance. Attempting to reason with him fails, and in the final act, she sacrifices herself by driving both herself and Salazar off a cliff. Though surviving the initial crash, she allows herself to drown, ensuring Verónica and Jamila can live freely and safely, a heartbreaking act of love and protection.
