By the time the Professor and his team manage to overcome most of the obstacles in their way, it has been a long and difficult journey of sixty hours. The Professor almost ends up killing Raquel’s mother but, in a moment of clarity, he decides to spare her.
Luckily for him, the old woman forgets about the incident almost immediately, revealing that she has a memory loss condition and no longer remembers the call or its contents. With that situation resolved, the Professor feels more at ease.

Meanwhile, the situation at the bank seems to calm down. After some hostages manage to escape, the crew begins recovering from the loss of Oslo, who dies after being hit with a pipe during an attempt to escape. His injuries cause him to bleed excessively, leading to brain death.
While Tokyo and Nairobi want to get him medical help in the hope that he can survive, Berlin insists on sticking to the original plan. After a heated exchange, Helsinki intervenes, pointing out that Oslo would rather die than be captured.
The Robbers’ New Strategy
Continuing with their plan, the Professor introduces another strategy: giving the remaining hostages a choice—either take their freedom or become accomplices and receive one million dollars from the loot. The robbers had expected most people to choose money, but the reactions were mixed.
This move is still a victory for the robbers because it helps them determine who can be trusted. Those who opt for the money are now more likely to cooperate with the robbers, while those choosing freedom could cause further disruption. As a result, the ones who chose freedom are sent to the basement.
The plan seems to be working smoothly until Berlin makes a crucial mistake. He develops an interest in Ariadna, a hostage who had seduced him in an attempt to stay alive. At first, it appears to be a foolish decision since the robbers had been ordered not to kill anyone.
However, when Ariadna chooses freedom, Berlin hints that this decision might endanger her. Picking up on his suggestion, Ariadna opts for the money. When the other hostages begin making their choices, she urges Mercedes to do the same, preventing a few others from choosing freedom.
The Tension Builds for Season Two
The real problem arises when Arturo, who has been watching the situation closely, decides to stay as well. The robbers, now thinking they’ve secured the hostages’ cooperation, lower their guard. But Arturo and Mercedes refuse to stay quiet, and Helsinki regrets not eliminating Arturo when he has the chance.

Meanwhile, the Professor experiences a major setback. In a moment of clarity, Raquel figures out that the robbers must have a base of operations somewhere, as they are all trained to use firearms.
Ángel had already identified a pharmacy where Berlin could get his medication, which leads Raquel to the realization that the robbers’ hideout might be close by. As she uncovers the plan in the attic, the Professor panics in the car.
Money Heist Season 2: What to Expect?
Season two picks up with a cliffhanger that will leave viewers gasping. The tables are turned as the cops gain the upper hand. In the first season, the robbers were always a step ahead of the police, having thought of every possible contingency.
But now, the authorities are on the same level as the robbers, if not better positioned. They not only know the entire plan, but they also have all the robbers’ DNA samples, including the Professor’s. With the element of surprise gone, the situation has shifted dramatically.
One of the most crucial developments will be when Raquel discovers the true identity of Sergio (the Professor). The external danger has risen, but things are also not under control inside the bank. Arturo, still bitter, will most likely plot to take revenge, possibly with Mercedes’ help.
Considering Arturo’s malicious nature, the robbers will have to prepare for more trouble. Additionally, Ariadna might play a more notable role in the robbers’ plans moving forward.
