Prime Video released the first three episodes of The Wheel of Time season 3 on March 13, 2025, giving fans an early burst of action and storytelling.
Under the leadership of Rafe Judkins, who serves as both showrunner and executive producer, the series continues its journey through Robert Jordan’s wide-reaching fantasy saga. The production is jointly handled by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
This season continues the journey of Rand al’Thor, known as the Dragon Reborn, as he and his companions take on increasingly powerful threats. The strength of the Dark One’s presence grows stronger with time, and those who once stood together—Moiraine Sedai, Lan, and Egwene—now face constant danger.

Political tension and magical conflict also draw in major Aes Sedai like Siuan Sanche and Nynaeve al’Meara, placing their loyalties under scrutiny and revealing hidden agendas.
Major plot points from episodes 1 to 3 of The Wheel of Time season 3 are discussed ahead. Please proceed if you’re already caught up.
Fresh Dangers and Emotional Challenges Shake the Heroes
From the beginning of the season, betrayal and threats begin to emerge, setting a tense tone for what’s ahead. These early episodes bring key changes and emotional upheaval, with the return of the Forsaken serving as a turning point that shakes the foundations of the story.
Many characters go through serious physical and emotional hardship, and the consequences of their choices now matter more than ever. The third episode closes by laying bare the intentions of the Forsaken, making the situation even more dangerous for Rand and his group.
Violence Erupts at the White Tower in Tar Valon
A strong image from season 3 shows chaos brewing inside the White Tower as rivalries reach a critical stage. Aes Sedai divisions take centre stage when Liandrin Guirale’s betrayal is revealed in the Great Hall, causing a violent clash between members of the Red and Black Ajah.
As Liandrin escapes with her allies from the Black Ajah, the confusion deepens, and the Aes Sedai remain more divided than ever. Nynaeve, still fighting against her internal block, finds herself unable to prevent the bloodshed.
What sparks the chaos even further is the stabbing of Liandrin by Maksim and Ihvon, her warders, which only intensifies the situation. Despite their attempt to stop her, her companions manage to heal her and secure her escape. Moiraine and Lan are left emotionally shaken by the entire event.
When Moiraine steps in to shield Siuan and intervene, the dangers inside the White Tower become clearer. Her actions suggest that bigger power struggles are coming, ones that will test Rand’s destiny and the strength of those standing against the Shadow.
Power of the Forsaken Becomes More Visible
As season 3 kicks off, the activities of the Forsaken become more direct and aggressive. Moghedien takes control early on by turning Jaichim Carridin into a Gray Man in the first episode, showing that the threat is no longer hidden.
This act signals the start of a dark plan, where the soulless Gray Men, now under the Forsaken’s control, are used to eliminate threats quietly and effectively. Jaichim’s transformation into one of these beings shows just how much power the Forsaken are wielding.
As Moghedien continues her manipulation and characters like Lanfear step into the frame, the sense of threat grows. These enemies are no longer part of forgotten tales—they are moving actively to bring down Rand and those who support him.
Lanfear’s intense message to Moiraine about controlling Rand before worse disasters hit reveals how dangerous things are becoming. Moiraine, along with her companions, must now face growing threats in a world full of broken trusts and hidden dangers.
Rand’s Path Becomes More Complicated in the Aiel Waste
By episode 3’s end, Rand is travelling through the harsh Aiel Waste, where he has to deal with more than just the rough conditions. He’s also being pulled toward the influence of the Dark One, with temptations coming from Lanfear and the offer of immense power through the sa’angreal, Sakarnen.
As the Dragon Reborn, Rand is torn between the heavy responsibilities he carries and the chance to grab the kind of strength that could end the conflict quickly. This struggle makes his journey more difficult and uncertain.
Elsewhere, his friends are dealing with their own problems. Mat Cauthon, burdened by his memory of using the Horn of Valere, is faced with unclear abilities and mysterious goals. His connection with Min and what lies ahead for him put him at an important turning point.
Perrin Aybara makes a touching return to Two Rivers, where he finds a new leadership role and has to adjust quickly. Elayne and Nynaeve continue to trace Liandrin’s steps and head to Tanchico, a place filled with danger, as their friendship grows stronger.
These early episodes leave the group facing new types of threats. The Forsaken’s reappearance complicates matters even more, as building trust becomes harder and every choice may bring more danger.
Elayne and Nynaeve Seek the Truth Behind the Black Ajah
As the story moves forward, Elayne and Nynaeve are seen travelling to Tanchico to dig deeper into what Liandrin and the Black Ajah are planning. Their search is aimed at finding clues about the next phase of the enemy’s scheme.

It becomes clear during their mission that Liandrin is after an old collar that can be used to control women who use the One Power. This discovery shows just how serious the threat from the Black Ajah and the Forsaken has become.
While continuing their investigation, the two women come under attack by a Grayman at the Tower. This raises more questions, especially about Verin, a friend they thought they could trust, who now seems to be hiding something.
With doubts growing about Verin’s loyalty, whether she’s been working for the Shadow or simply caught in a dangerous situation remains unclear. These questions keep the tension high and create more interest in where their mission is heading.
Shadow Plots Deepen As More Forsaken Emerge
In the third episode, new challenges appear as two of the Forsaken—Moghedien and Rahvin—begin working together in secret. Their alliance adds more danger for Rand and his companions. Rahvin, especially, brings fresh trouble by influencing Andor’s Queen and creating unrest in the political space.
At the same time, Rand continues to wrestle with internal conflict. The constant pull between the Shadow’s temptations and his connection to the One Power weighs heavily on him. The path he chooses going forward will impact not just him, but everyone close to him.
With the Forsaken making bigger moves and both light and dark forces drawing battle lines, the question remains: who will determine how this struggle ends?
