DeAr Ending Explained: A Story of Struggles and Reconciliation

A relationship tested by snoring and sleepless nights.

Arjun, a light sleeper, can’t sleep unless there is absolute silence, while Deepika, on the other hand, is a heavy sleeper who has been battling snoring problems since her childhood. Her condition has led to many suitors turning her down in the past.

One day, Arjun and his family visit Deepika’s home for a potential marriage proposal, unaware of the snoring issue that could affect their relationship. During the initial talks, it is revealed that Deepika’s mother and Arjun’s mother are old school friends.

Out of respect for their friendship, Deepika’s mother decides not to mention her daughter’s snoring problem to Arjun. On their first night together, Arjun shares with Deepika that he is sensitive to noise, a revelation that leaves Deepika shocked. She confides in her mother, who advises her to stay awake throughout the night.

Deepika’s Struggles and Arjun’s Reaction

Even though Deepika tries her best to stay awake, she eventually falls asleep and starts snoring loudly, disturbing Arjun’s rest. This causes Arjun to become upset and frustrated, leading to him staying awake the entire night.

The next morning, both of them are reluctant to address the issue but realize they can’t ignore it. In the end, Arjun decides to cancel their honeymoon and returns home due to the sleep disturbance. Back at home, Arjun talks to a close friend about the situation and asks a co-worker for advice on dealing with a woman’s snoring.

Together, they come up with a plan where they will alternate sleeping arrangements every night in an effort to manage the issue. This routine continues for a month, but the lack of proper sleep begins to take a toll on both Arjun and Deepika.

Their work and daily lives are affected, but they remain committed to salvaging their relationship. Arjun begins searching for a doctor who could help with Deepika’s snoring, while Deepika starts considering therapy for Arjun’s sleeping problems.

The Divorce and Reconciliation

After their marriage, Arjun’s issues worsen as he becomes the subject of ridicule at work due to his constant sleep deprivation. When he fails to conduct an important interview, he loses his job, and his dreams crumble. With frustration building, Arjun decides to file for divorce without telling Deepika.

The court rejects the divorce petition based on the snoring issue and refers the matter for mediation. Despite his elder brother’s attempts to intervene and reconcile, Arjun stubbornly refuses. Months go by, and Deepika finally reveals that she is pregnant, begging Arjun to reconsider and withdraw the divorce petition.

However, Arjun insists on taking responsibility for the child without making peace with Deepika. Deeply hurt, Deepika has an abortion against Arjun’s wishes. In a surprising twist, Arjun’s mother falls seriously ill and requires urgent bypass surgery.

Deepika learns about Arjun’s estranged father through a letter and decides to confront him. This leads to a heartfelt reconciliation between Arjun’s family and the return of his father. Arjun’s father shares some powerful insights on relationships, which make Arjun rethink his decision to divorce.

On the day of the divorce hearing, Arjun apologizes to Deepika and expresses his desire to give their marriage another chance, asking her to adjust for the sake of their relationship. The family comes back together, and Arjun and Deepika are blessed with a baby boy, who, just like his mother, also snores.

This shared experience brings them closer, bringing joy and laughter to their home. This marks the beginning of a renewed bond between them. If you want to watch DeAr, it is currently available on Netflix.
