Rather than beginning with a grand twist, the final section of Indika gradually leads into a conclusion that rewards the player with points. This explanation will walk through the last major story events while breaking down how everything ends.
All through the story, Indika tries hard to stay devout and do what is right in the eyes of her faith, performing actions like praying for the dead or discovering sacred items, which help her earn points. Yet throughout her efforts, she continues to be tormented by a voice constantly whispering in her ear, suggested to be the devil.

Indika’s Struggle and Moral Collapse
Despite this constant disturbance, she continues her journey with Ilya to reach the Kudets, determined to silence the voice permanently. When they get to the Cathedral of John of Damascus, Indika confesses to the priest that Ilya is an escaped prisoner.
She soon adds that he must honour the Seal of Confession. Even though she expects the priest to keep it confidential, he soon returns with a soldier. In the chaos that follows, the priest is shot and loses his life. Ilya then escapes into a nearby room, where he discovers the Kudets and prays for God to restore his severed arm.
But when no miracle happens, he abandons the situation and runs off, leaving Indika to be caught and taken into custody. While she’s being led to her prison cell, a guard begins to tell her the disturbing tale of Makar the Scytheman.
Makar, after ending the life of his sick child, is assured by a priest that his son is guaranteed a place in heaven due to dying free of sin. This gives Makar a warped sense of mission, and he goes on to kill six more children, thinking his actions are righteous, despite how horrific they are.
Upon reaching her prison cell, the guard gives her an offer: freedom in exchange for sex. Indika gives in. By doing so, she breaks the moral code she had followed, wiping away all the piety she had built up. The points the player has been accumulating throughout the game are reset to zero, showing how quickly moral standing can be destroyed.
Indika’s Transformation and Final Realization
After this moment, Indika begins to fully accept the voice in her ear. It turns out that this voice is not some external demonic presence, but her thoughts.

When a demon shows up to strike down the guard, the scene changes, showing the guard pinned under a dresser, suggesting that it was Indika who used her strength and pulled it down herself.
Later, when she makes her way to the pawnshop and touches the Kudets, the mirror shows a reflection of what she has become. What stares back at her is a demon—what she had always feared. This transformation is shown as the result of her ‘sins’.
Yet, after she interacts with the Kudets more deeply, something changes. She seems to return to her regular form, and the voice she had been hearing disappears. As she shakes the Kudets and sees points spilling out, it becomes clear that those points, once seen as markers of goodness, have no real value.
Indika could live in total devotion and gain many good points, but all of that could vanish in a single action. Before she walks out of the shop, something stands out. A familiar image of Jesus—the same one seen earlier in the Tihon level near a cave—appears on one of the shelves.
This final moment suggests that even though Indika has found some form of freedom, her past beliefs and religious teachings will continue to follow her.
