Slyth The Hunt Saga Ending Explained: Betrayal, Revenge, and Redemption Across Worlds

Divine blood and betrayal fuel the clash between worlds.

Instead of seeing the Slyths as enemies, it turns out they were divine beings from the realm called Slytheria, who helped humans by giving them their blood to cure diseases and ease their pain, as long as they received worship in return.

Ikitar, known as the Black Slyth, served as a ruler and a messenger whose duty was to deliver this healing blood to the human race. When an outbreak of disease struck humanity, the Slyths gave their lives to save them.

This act didn’t sit well with Ikitar. He started to develop hatred for humans and attempted to end their alliance, but when he failed, he was forced to live among them in exile, to understand them better. But instead of learning, his desire for revenge only grew.

Through a new video game, he saw an opportunity to exact that revenge. By tricking Zee’s team into eliminating the Slyths who banished him, he could make sure humans no longer received the life-saving blood. And by doing so, the Slyths would feel betrayed and attack humanity, causing both sides to fall apart.

His end goal was to come forward as the hero and take control of both Earth and Slytheria.

Who killed Zee’s mother?

Things take a dark turn from the very beginning of the film. Chris, Layla, and Zee are on a night drive when all of a sudden, a Slyth appears in front of their car, leading to a serious accident. At first, Chris and Zee are convinced that Name, the White Slyth, is behind Layla’s death.

But what happened is that Ikitar caused the crash. He wanted to use fear to manipulate Chris into siding with him for his revenge. While Name did arrive at the crash site, he came too late. Ikitar had already killed Layla and escaped. Chris, who only saw Name at the scene, mistakenly assumed he was the killer.

That misunderstanding pushed Chris into joining Ikitar and launching a mission to wipe out the Slyths.

Why does Chris agree to destroy Project Slyth?

Project Slyth refers to a system designed to create portals between Earth and the Slytheria dimension. The system is widespread, and anyone with access could open the portals. Ikitar uses Chris’ pain to manipulate him, telling him that Name is immortal and has the power to resurrect Layla.

This convinces Chris to create a game that deceives Zee and her team into entering Slytheria in search of Name. But when Chris comes to realise that Name has no such power, and that Ikitar had only tricked him for personal gain, he decides to act.

After understanding Ikitar’s real intention to rule over both worlds, Chris chooses to destroy the portals. Zee forgives him for his part in the plan and for hurting Name. Chris stays behind to make sure the system is destroyed, which results in an explosion that ends his life.

How are the Slyths able to save Earth?

After Ikitar is defeated by Name and Zee is rescued, things begin to change. Dr. Charles, a former partner of Chris, works with a group called the Guardians and joins forces with the Slyths. Instead of abandoning the portals Chris created, they are used for a better cause — purifying the planet.

The toxic smog that had made the planet difficult to live on starts to clear away. The Slyths help the Earth heal itself, trees begin to grow again, and fresh oxygen is restored. Humans also take responsibility by creating cleaner sources of energy. For the first time in years, people can breathe freely without masks.
