Oloture: The Journey Ending Explained: The Fate of Tony and Alero

Tony’s decision now carries the weight of Alero’s mistake.

Tony now faces a dilemma as he tries to fix Alero’s mistake, and he receives a visit from a young man named Ade, who warns him. Ade asks Tony to stay out of Casa Vintori, a part of sex work controlled by Silver Blade, the group responsible for the deaths of the women.

Outside the wrecked bus, Oloture and Peju decide to head towards Maradi, as it is closer than returning home. As they near Maradi, a stranger helps them and takes them into the town. Meanwhile, Sir Philips has a conversation with Tony, warning him to keep Alero out of his sight if he wants to continue doing business with him.

Sir Philips also tells Tony about Oloture, revealing that she is an undercover journalist, but since she is now out of the country, they need not worry about her. When Beauty reaches home, her aunt informs her of a fire that claimed her mother’s life.

With the business collapsing, Tony creates chaos in Alero’s house and demands she disappear, as Sir Philips has placed a bounty on her. In an attempt to get information, Oloture contacts the newspaper and learns that Theo was killed because of her, and they will no longer cover the story.

Her boss urges Oloture to stay where she is. Desperate and afraid, Oloture roams the streets of Niger, unsure of her next move.

Oloture: The Journey (Season 1) Episode 2 Recap

The episode continues with Oloture and Peju in Niger, sitting on the sidelines of a football match. While they watch, Peju spots a player she takes an interest in. After the game, the women approach Ben for advice on reaching Europe.

Ben, along with his friend Andrew, joins the women for a drink. He warns them to be careful, as many people are looking to exploit women like them. With Ben’s kindness, the hope of escaping Niger seems possible. The next day, Ben, Andrew, Peju, and Oloture board a bus heading to Agadez.

Meanwhile, Beauty returns to her sister Linda’s brothel seeking help, but she is kicked out. As Beauty walks away, Chucks finds her and agrees to help, taking her to his house and asking Jewel to make Beauty look presentable.

Elsewhere, Alero is kicked out of her family’s home and left with no one to turn to. The group eventually reaches Agadez, where a man named Feni offers them food, water, and shelter. Meanwhile, Jewel finishes working on Beauty, and Chucks, impressed, takes her to a strip club where she has her first client.

That night, Oloture opens up to Feni, sharing her story. Feni promises to help, as he knows another journalist. The shelter hosts a small girl’s birthday, and Feni takes a picture of Oloture. To stay at the shelter and earn money, Peju and Oloture do physical labor for several days.

Where Does Feni Take Oloture?

One night, Feni invites Oloture to meet the journalist he mentioned, taking her to a house. Once inside, Feni asks Oloture to wait in a room and locks the door behind her. It is revealed that Feni is making money from a Madam and that the house is a brothel.

Realizing she is trapped, Oloture calls out for Feni, but the madam enters and informs Oloture that she must work for her from now on. When Oloture attempts to escape, she is whipped.

Back home, Oloture’s mother is desperately pleading with the police to find her daughter, who has been missing for weeks. At the shelter, Ben and the others are searching for Oloture, suspecting Feni’s involvement in her disappearance.

At the brothel in Agadez, a man enters Oloture’s room, but she refuses to sleep with him and defends herself. Afterward, she is injected with a drug.

Oloture: The Journey (Season 1) Episode 3 Recap

The episode picks up with Oloture still trapped in the brothel, pleading with the man not to administer any more injections, promising to cooperate. Soon, Oloture has a client who enters the room with a bottle of liquor. Oloture grabs the bottle, hits the man on the head, and steals his phone to call Ben.

She gives Ben directions to the brothel and steals the client’s money before calling for the madam. Fortunately, the madam unlocks the door, and Oloture runs out, where Ben and Andrew are waiting at the front gate.

They manage to escape, and once outside the brothel, Oloture reveals that Feni had set her up. The group spends the night elsewhere and leaves Agadez the next day.

Another Still from “Oloture: The Journey” (Season 1)

The group eventually finds a ride across the desert to their next destination. Meanwhile, Alero meets with Ade to strike a deal, which he agrees to. At the same time, Chucks asks Tony for permission to help, and Tony allows Chucks to handle Ade.

That night, Chucks punishes Jewel and Beauty for not making enough money. In the desert, Ben wakes everyone up when he hears someone approaching, and they hide beneath a vehicle. It proves to be a good move, as a man arrives and takes a few women, likely for sex work.

The next morning, the journey continues through the desert. However, trouble arises when armed men stop the van and force the group out onto the sand, looting them. In the process, the men beat Andrew, leaving him bruised and weak.

Despite this, the group presses on, helping Andrew to continue their journey.

Oloture: The Journey (Season 1) Episode 3 Ending Explained

To prove his loyalty, Chucks kills Ade, gaining Tony’s trust and securing his role in trafficking women to Europe. Meanwhile, Ade’s boss, Antonio, calls Alero, asking for her help in trafficking women. In the desert, Andrew struggles to keep up, but the group encourages him to press on.

A sandstorm makes things even more difficult, and Andrew succumbs to exhaustion, passing away. After burying his body in the desert, the trio continues on foot. Luckily, they encounter a truck, and the driver agrees to take them to Libya, where they receive food, water, and shelter.

However, their troubles are far from over. The man in charge demands $100 for them to board a boat, but since they were looted, they have no money. Their only option is to ask someone they know for help or face being sold into slavery.

Desperate, Oloture calls her mother for the money, and her mother promises to send it. While they wait for the money, Ben is brutally beaten. Alero, now working for Antonio, prepares another batch of women for trafficking. She requests a favor from Antonio—to get rid of Chucks.

Once the money is cleared, Ben’s group is transported to a water tanker to board a boat. Though uncertain of what lies ahead, this is their only chance for freedom. Ben, Oloture, and Peju board the boat, leaving for the sea.

Oloture: The Journey – Will Oloture, Ben, and Peju Survive?

As the season draws to a close, both the characters and viewers are left hopeful, believing that Oloture, Ben, and Peju might survive once they cross the sea. However, there are many unanswered questions, and a second season is likely to conclude Oloture’s journey.

With Alero back in business and Chucks’ fate uncertain, it seems likely that both he and Tony will meet their end. Whether Oloture succeeds in exposing her undercover story remains to be seen, but there is still hope that she will survive and make it home.
